Limerick Sings International Choral Festival
Rise, breathe, and sing. In this uplifting and engaging morning workshop, we’ll lift up our voices with a blend of technical warm-ups and easy, enjoyable repertoire.
Expect a relaxed, supportive atmosphere where singers can recharge, explore their sound, and share in the joy of making music together on the final day of the Limerick Sings Festival.
This workshop is suitable for singers of all levels of experience, and no advance preparation is required.
Ross Scanlon has enjoyed a diverse career on both the operatic and concert stage, and is a highly sought after singing teacher specialising particularly in the genre of Musical Theatre. He is a member of the Vocal Faculty at The Lir Academy, Trinity College, Dublin and MTU Cork School of Music.
Currently he has clients spanning from London’s West End to the Abbey Theatre. He has trained singers to degree and master’s level and has had many students go on to further their studies in some of the top colleges in the UK and USA.
Alongside his teaching practice he has had a very successful performance career, including with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Welsh National Opera, Opera Collective Ireland, and NI Opera.
Ross was the founder and first Musical Director of Bray Gospel Choir. He is currently vocal consultant for the Dublin Gay Men’s Choir, vocal coach to National Youth Choir of Northern Ireland and has been part of the music education team for The National Opera House, Wexford.
Having trained at the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama where he was awarded the Michael McNamara Gold Medal of excellence in performance, Ross continued his studies at the Royal Academy of Music, London where he obtained his LRAM teaching qualification.
