Canadian pianist Carter Johnson brings exceptional artistry and charisma to this year’s Friends Gala Concert. A prize winner at major international competitions, including the 2025 Van Cliburn and Dublin International Piano Competitions, he is renowned for his expressive, communicative playing and imaginative programming. Johnson has performed with leading orchestras worldwide and is equally at home in solo and chamber repertoire.
His Gala programme ranges from the lyrical beauty of Schumann and the iconic “Moonlight” Sonata by Beethoven to striking works by Schnittke, Bartók, and Judith Ring, promising an evening of depth, contrast, and musical discovery for audiences of all backgrounds.
