Since 2018, the London Symphonic Rock Orchestra has been tearing up world stages with strings that shred and drums that detonate. Delivering epic, reorchestrated hits from Queen, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Fleetwood Mac and more…

These modern-day warriors of rock, immersed in a candlelit, fantasy forest, create an experience that’s powerful and unforgettable. The atmosphere is electric, the musicians mesmerising, and the 100% live wall of sound is a symphonic storm.

Join us for an enjoyable evening of musical celebration at the Limerick Summer Proms as the Military Pipes and Bands of the Defence Forces take to the stage at University Concert Hall Limerick. This hugely enjoyable concert features well-known operatic arias and musical theatre favourites, in addition to stirring military band tunes performed with trademark precision and flair. They will be joined by soprano Claudia Boyle for a vibrant and uplifting evening of much-loved musical favourites, perfect for a summer night out!

Limerick Summer Proms – A Celebration of The Beach Boys with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra

The RTÉ Concert Orchestra perform the music of The Beach Boys, including Pet Sounds in its entirety. Experience the intimate harmonies born out of the Wilson brothers, Mike Love and Al Jardine, expanded by orchestra and joined by star vocalists Patrick Smyth, Stuart Matthew Price, Graham Bickley, Jon Boydon and Steve Trowell, all under conductor Richard Balcombe.

Released in 1966, Pet Sounds ranks among the greatest albums of all time. The RTÉ CO perform the iconic album all the way through, including all-time favourites God Only Knows and Wouldn’t It Be Nice.This programme also features Beach Boys hits from doo-wop to surf pop like I Get Around, Barbara Ann, Don’t Worry Baby and In My Room.

With arrangements, instrumentation and production that was groundbreaking in the ’60s, enjoy the symphonic sound of California sunshine with full orchestral power.

The dreamlike serenity of Satie’s Gymnopédie No. 1 gives way to a heartfelt surge in Massenet’s much loved Méditation before Katherine Hunka’s poignant elegy moves the soul. Finally, bask in the radiance of Ravel’s String Quartet in F Major, arranged for orchestra, as it gathers momentum into a vibrant, exhilarating finale. DIRE STRAITS – John Illsley

Founding member of one of the greatest rock bands in history, John Illsley is coming to University Concert Hall, Limerick this October for an incredible live show celebrating the timeless music of DIRE STRAITS.

As the legendary bass player and a cornerstone of the band’s unmistakable sound, John Illsley was present from the very beginning of Dire Straits and played on every one of the group’s albums. The band became one of the most successful rock acts in the world, selling over 120 million records and producing era-defining classics including Sultans of Swing, Money for Nothing, Walk of Life, Romeo and Juliet, and Brothers in Arms.

Together with frontman Mark Knopfler, John helped shape a band whose distinctive blend of rock, blues and storytelling lyrics earned them global acclaim. Their landmark 1985 album Brothers in Arms became one of the best-selling albums of all time and cemented Dire Straits’ place among rock’s most influential bands.

The audience will hear the songs that defined a generation, performed by one of the musicians who created them. 

Backed by an incredible band, he delivers an authentic, powerful performance bringing the music of Dire Straits vividly to life — a rare chance to experience this legend live.

Emma Doran – Emmaculate

The many trials and tribulations of Emma’s blended family are laid bare, womanhood examined, and relationships put to the test in this witty, rambunctious show from one of Ireland’s most beloved stand-ups. UCH and Producer Robert C Kelly are once again bringing the magic of Panto, with the daring adventures of Jack, some magical beans, a rather confused cow and a not–so–friendly Giant.

Join a stellar cast, featuring returning UCH Panto favourites, along with some new faces, for this classic pantomime story.

When Jack swaps the family cow for a handful of mysterious beans, he has no idea the adventure that’s about to sprout! With the help of his friends, Jack must climb the towering beanstalk to outwit the fearsome Giant, rescue the village, and maybe even win the heart of the fair maiden along the way. But will good triumph over greedy giants? There’s only one way to find out!

Our Jack & the Beanstalk pantomime will be brought spectacularly to life in a breath taking production packed with laugh-out-loud comedy, jaw-dropping sets, fabulous costumes, and chart-topping hits.

Prepare to boo, hiss and cheer – oh yes you will! – in this perfect festive treat for all the family. Adventure awaits at UCH… and it’s going to be HUGE!

This is a family Panto, with some loud bangs, flashing and strobe lights, and theatrical fog and haze effects, along with a few scary moments, a bit of panto innuendo (never intended to offend) – and some very silly jokes!
