UCH Win Limerick Chamber Award!

University Concert Hall was delighted to win the Award in the Best Sport, Art, Culture category at this year’s Limerick Chamber Awards. This was the venue’s second consecutive win in this category.

University Concert Hall (UCH) is the largest live entertainment and conference venue in the Mid-West Region, with a capacity of over 1,000. UCH attracts household names from the worlds of music, comedy, theatre and classical – Dara O’Briain, Van Morrison, Dylan Moran, Billy Connolly, Don McLean, Nathan Carter, Nigel Kennedy and Sir James Galway to name but a few – contributing vastly to the cultural life of the city and its inhabitants, as well as attracting audiences from neighbouring counties.

In addition to hosting entertainers of international prominence, UCH also supports local organisations and University based groups such as the Limerick Musical Society, Limerick Choral Union and University of Limerick Orchestra. The venue is also a highly attractive destination for conference business, which this year included the Irish League of Credit Unions and the 4th annual International Limerick Sings Festival.

In the past five years University Concert Hall has grown audiences by 55%. The venue currently employs over 56 staff (full-time, part-time and casual) and promotes approximately  200 events annually. Since introducing professional Panto to the region in 2012, University Concert Hall has welcomed over 80,000 school children and families to what is now regarded as one of the best Pantos in the country. Beauty and the Beast is now on sale for Christmas 2016.
