A unique chance to hear UCH’s lovingly restored Savoy Compton Organ, and the story of Dublin’s legendary Theatre Royal.
Come and join Compton Organist extraordinaire Rónán Murray, along with Conor Doyle as Narrator, and singers Gerry Noonan (baritone) and Kathleen Noonan (soprano), as they bring back to life the greatest international stars the world had to offer. Legends appearing on the theatre's stage included Judy Garland, Jimmy Durante, Nat King Cole, Bill Haley and his Comets, Sean Connery, Walt Disney, Liberace and many more.
Then of course there were the Irish performers: Jimmy O'Dea, Noel Purcell, Maureen Potter, Peggy Dell, Jack Cruise, Patricia Cahill and Josef Locke. This special performance will look at these Irish stars and the connections they also had to Limerick's beloved Savoy Theatre.
Included also is rarely seen original film footage of the last night of the Royal. as well as photographs, autographs and the stories of one of Europe’s greatest variety theatres.
This highly acclaimed Theatre Royal Show has already sold out over thirty times in the National Concert Hall, Dublin’s Tivoli Theatre, Dublin’s City Hall and Mansion House.
