Married To Broadway features the Stars of Les Miserables!
In Married To Broadway Ron Sharpe and Barbra Russell – stars of Broadway who met while playing the young romantic leads of Marius and Cosette in “Les Miserables” – share their love affaire with the great music of the musicals, performing big showstopping numbers that are audience favourites the world over – expect music from The Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Evita, West Side Story, Carousel, Fiddler on the Roof and, of course, Les Mis!
A must for lovers of Musical Theatre!
Barbra and Ron have performed around the world including command performances for the presidents of Ireland, Singapore and the United States!
Married to Broadway is a family show that depicts the story of their family through the use of Broadway music. They sometimes have special guests that join them including their children, and other members of their musical family!
RON SHARPE was first actor to have played both male leads of “Marius” and “Jean Valjean” in Les Miserables on Broadway.
Other Broadway credits include the original productions of The Scarlet Pimpernel, The Civil War, and with Sir Tim Rice and Alan Menken in Disney’s King David. One of his favourite roles was as “the stoker” Fred Barret in Titanic. Ron’s television credits include several appearances on The Rosie O’Donnel Show, The Tony Awards on CBS, and at the NBA All Star Game in Madison Square Garden.
Ron reprised his role of Jean Valjean in the 25th anniversary production of Les Misérables which returned to Broadway in 2014, and was featured in a production of Sweeney Todd Live at Lincoln Center starring Emma Thompson which won the Creative Arts Emmy Award.
BARBRA RUSSELL-SHARPE performed as the lead role of Cosette in Broadway’s Les Miserables. Favorite shows include as Luisa in The Fantastiks and Laurie in Oklahoma among others. She has performed across the country from Chicago to Florida, New York to California and overseas from Singapore to Ireland. Worldwide and US concerts include a performance for the President and Prime Minister of Singapore and performances at the National Concert Hall in Dublin, Ireland. Barbra can be heard on many TV and Radio commercials as voice over artist. Barbra had the great pleasure to perform with Tony Bennett at The US Open.
Together Ron and Barbra produced two Broadway shows – A Catered Affair with Harry Fierstein, Faith Prince and Tom Wopat, and A Tale of Two Cities, where they served as the shows executive producers. The Broadway show was followed by the International Cast Recording and PBS show, A Tale of Two Cities in Concert filmed in both London and Paris featuring narration by Michael York. Tale has been performed in over twelve countries and is being finalize as a feature film for release in 2021.
They produced and performed the album Sweethearts, the music of Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy.
Ron and Barbra are the proud parents of four children, Samantha, Logan, and identical twins Aidan and Connor who all love to sing!
