Choir of St Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin
Venue: St Mary's Cathedral
We are delighted to be welcoming the choir of St Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin to Limerick. They will be performing in St Mary’s Cathedral as part of this year’s St Mary’s Cathedral Festival. This follows on from the success of last year’s sold-out concert in St Mary’s given by the choir of King’s College, Cambridge. 2018 was a significant year for St Mary’s, as it commemorated 850 years since the cathedral’s foundation, and this year’s festival seeks to build on that celebration. For 2019 we have invited a leading national cathedral choir to visit us. St Patrick’s choir are well known across Ireland for their annual broadcast on Christmas Eve of the carol service, which is the oldest continuous broadcast on national radio. The choir sings two services daily in St Patrick’s, the only cathedral choir in this part of the world to do so, and in addition undertakes regular concerts, recordings and tours.
